My second shoot for London Sauna Week 2026 at Wellnest in London Bridge. This time, a book launch celebrating Mikkel Aaland’s two-volume collector’s edition, bringing together his books Sweat (1978) and Naked Sweat (2026), published nearly 50 years apart!
Mikkel was joined in conversation by sauna historian (and legend!) Malcolm Shifrin, author of Victorian Turkish Baths, and Jane Withers, author of Social Sauna, with London Sauna Week co-founder Mika Meskanen chairing the discussion.
It was a fascinating evening exploring sauna culture, history and the growing interest in communal bathing.
I was also lucky enough to photograph the launch of the very first London Sauna Week a couple of days earlier, including a panel talk, sauna rituals and a whole lot of happy, sweaty humans! You can see the photos from the launch event here.
