Michalina flew over from Zurich for an Essence Soulful Shoot, as she's in the early stages of building BloomPath… her new venture reimagining postpartum care for mothers.
After almost a decade working in healthcare consulting with pharmaceutical companies, the idea of creating something of her own had been quietly growing in the background.
The more she learnt about women's healthcare, the more she noticed the gaps in support during pregnancy and in those early months after birth. She'd also seen first hand the difference a more holistic approach to care could make.
And so... BloomPath was born.
Her vision is to create a supportive community where women feel genuinely cared for throughout pregnancy and into motherhood, with access to midwives, practitioners and holistic support for both body and mind.
As with so many of the people I photograph, this wasn't about having a polished website or a fully formed business just yet. It was about showing up and taking those first steps.
Michalina simply needed portraits that felt like her. Images she could use for LinkedIn, conversations with investors and healthcare partners, and the beginning of this exciting new chapter.
Although we'd only just met in person (we had met on Zoom), within minutes we were chatting away, choosing outfits with Louise (an incredible stylist), and she started to relax into it. We only had an hour together, but we created a collection of natural portraits that feel warm, professional and, most importantly, like her.
